In this section I will show you some of the interesting facts about Panama, its tourist places, food, dances and festivities.







1.1 Three interesting facts about Panama

  The third place of the most visited countries in Latin America is occupied by Panama.

Panama is highlighted as the third tourist power, due to its geographical location and favorable environment for doing business. His position is outstanding and is above Costa Rica, Argentina and Chile.





• The largest fleet in the world is conducted by boats that wave the flag of Panama.

Each merchant ship is registered in a country, which is known as the flag state.

  Panama, the Marshall Islands and Liberia are in charge of being the main flag states in the world.

  About 8,600 ships fly the Panamanian flag. By comparison, the United States has about 3,400 registered vessels and China just over 3,700.






• The Balboa is used exclusively in accounting terms, for this reason Panama does not have a traditional central bank.

The history of the National Bank of Panama is linked to that of the Republic. Founded six months after the birth of the Republic as Banco Hipotecario y Prendario.

Most famous holidays

The most famous or outstanding festivals in Panama are the following:

Manito festival in Ocu
   The Manito de Ocu Festival is celebrated from August 11 to 14 in the Ocu district.






• Palmira patron festivities
   The Patron Saint Festivities of Palmira are commemorated in the month of September in the province of Colon.
    


• Children's Day
    Children's Day is celebrated on Sunday, July 17, 2022 in Panama.



• National Pollera Festival
The National Pollera Festival is commemorated in the month of July in the province of Los Santos. 




• Azuero International Fair
   The Azuero International Fair is considered one of the greatest tourist attractions in the Region.  This fair is held from April 21 to May 1 in the year 2022 in the Villa of Los Santos.


• Christmas
   Christmas is celebrated on December 25 in all the country as well as in Panama.



• New year
   The New Year is celebrated on January 1 in all the country as well as in Panama.



• Flower and Coffee Fair.
   The Flower and Coffee Fair is realizing in Boquete, Province of Chiriqui. This fair is found open all year round organizing so that the event is finally realized in January.



• The Carnivals
   The carnivals of Panama are celebrated for four consecutive days in the month of February throughout Panama.



• Sona Fair
   The Sona Fair is performed every year on November 5 in the district of Sona.



• Mother's Day
   Mother's Day is celebrated every year on May 8 in Panama.



• Father's day
   Father's Day is celebrated next year on Sunday, June 19, 2022 in Panama.




• Congos and Devils Festival
   The Festival of Congos and Devils is celebrated every two years after Ash Wednesday in Colon Province.


• Corpus Christi
   The corpus Christi is celebrated next year on Thursday, June 16 in Panama.




• The Toro Guapo Festival 
   The Toro Guapo Festival is celebrated in October in the Anton district.



• National parades
   The national parades are celebrated throughout the month of November in Panama.
